Variable idle

I'm having a slight problem?? I think with the idle in my 1960 MGA 1600. 
On start up it will idle where I set it (~1000rpm after warm up) but it
eventually crawls up to ~1500rpm.  Any thoughts on why this is happening
and the cure??
