Bruce:

I'm assuming neither the high nor the low beams work. Check for voltage on
the blue wire at the dimmer switch. If you have voltage here, then the dimmer
switch is bad, or the connection is bad. If you don't have voltage here,
check the voltage at the blue wire at the headlight switch. If you have
voltage here, then there is a break (or bad connection) somewhere in the blue
wire between the HL switch and the dimmer sw. If you don't have voltage on
the blue wire at the HL sw, then the HL switch is bad or the connection to
the blue wire is bad. All the other lights get voltage through the headlight
switch, so it is not a break in the wiring leading to the switch.

If the high beams work but not the low, or vice-versa, the the dimmer switch
is the culprit.

Wherever you find the problem, the first thing to do, before replacing
anything, is to clean the contacts/connectors, etc. If this doesn't fix it,
then it's time to replace or repair the faulty switch.
