Subject: Dash light dimmer
Can someone tell me how toget a dash light rheostat (dimmer) apart? I am
trying to replace my broken unit, and can't get the knob off the shaft to
allow it to push through the hole. It has a little button on the bottom of
the knob that looks like it is a press button to push to release the knob
from the shaft. Despite soaking in WD-40. the button won't push, and the
knob won't come loose. Am I going about this the right way? This seems like
a lot of trouble for something that already works fine. I bypassed the
dimmer when it went out, and will never turn the lights down anyway, but I
got tired of looking at the empty hole in the dash.
Thanks in advance,
Mike Ellsworth
