Hood patch

Does anybody have a source for a patch panel for the front of the hood
(okay, bonnet) for a Midget?  Everybody wants to sell me a new one, but
I'd rather try to fix what I've got.  I'm not the greatest metal-worker,
so I don't think I could make my own.
