Recent developments on the autocross list have reminded me of something that
occured a couple of years back. Those who've been on one list or another
since the fall of '95 may remember an appeal for funds I sent out to all the
lists. The money was used to buy a dedicated machine to serve the mailing
list run from here, currently something like 3 dozen, as well as www.team.net
and the ftp site. The fund drive brought in thousands of dollars, and I
bought an HP Pavilion box, with the stuff needed to run the lists. Of course,
what cost thousands two years ago is now available for $699.95 down at the
corner variety store, but that's how the computer market goes. To those who
donated in this, and previous rounds of equipment funding, I offer a sincere
Thank You for making the efforts I put in worthwhile.
And now, I'm going to make another solicitation for funds, but this time
it is different. You could actually end up with something tangible for
your money! The deal is, I have on hand a batch of Team Fat T shirts, which
I intended to sell at the Fort Worth VTR meet. But the box of shirts got
to Salt Lake about the time we were hauling along I-40 in New Mexico on the
way there. So, I'm abusing my list janitor position to peddle my wares here.
What they are is a medium weight, 100% cotton shirt. The body of the
shirt is white, the sleeves are a black and white checkered pattern. The
front has a small "Team Fat" printed on it, the back has the Fat Chance
Garage and Brewery Triumph shield beer mug logo. I have a postscript file
with the design, I'll work on making something available on my web site
( http://www.team.net/mjb/ ) so folks can see what they would be getting.
Currently there are only two sizes available, large and extra large.
The cost per shirt will be fifteen US Dollars, which includes postage.
If you buy two shirts, I'll charge only $12 for the second shirt.
Now, if you don't want or need another shirt, and you'd still like to show
your appreciation for the efforts I put into these mailing lists, you can
just contribute to the, uh, beverage fund. Or, of course, if you happen to
be spending all your money on the latest project and don't have any to spare,
then feel free to ignore this shameless begging for sales, and continue to
enjoy the list. And if you live outside the United States, and getting US
dollars is just a pain, don't even worry about it. You can just buy me a
beer when you come to Salt Lake for the 2002 Winter Olympics.
For folks who want to purchase a shirt, or just send in a token of
appreciation, here's an order form of sorts:
1 Team Fat T Shirt $15.00 (specify Large or X-Large)
