The ROstyle wheel was named for the company that produced them... Rubery
Owen (sp?), and were fitted from Oct 69 to Dec 71. They were also made for
other cars besides the MG. I would suspect that your orphan wheel has the
same center as the MG with a wider rim. This is because:
(a) the wheel came from a car other than an MG, or
(b) the prior owner was a creattive cheater in stock class autocrossing, or
(c) both.
The square hole wheel is called the Mk II Rostyle in Lindsay Porter's book,
indicating they were fitted from Jan 72 on. If you want 5 1/2" steel wheels,
try Chevy Vega... they have a disc wheel and a styled steel wheel similar to
the Rostyle. The Vega GT uses a 13 x 6 wheel.
I have some aluminum 13 x 5 1/2 rims for sale if interested (very reasonable)
