My air pump ('74 BGT) has begun to make noises. I expect from the sound of it
that the bearing in the pump is starting to go.
I can remove the pump and detox the head, but emissions standards being what
they are in this
area, I may have trouble in the future getting past inspection without the
air pump in place.
(No tail pipe tests required to date for the pre-catalytic converter cars).
So my preference would be to
leave the air pump in place.
Any suggestions about rebuild of these units or methods attempted to get
some lubrication to the
existing bearing??
