Union Jack question

I have finally decided to paint my old trunk (boot) lid with a Union Jack.  I
probably wouldn't bother, but the color is dark blue, so...  My question, to
all who have completed this project, did you paint the MG emblem the same
colors as the Jack, or did you leave it original?  My emblem is the one-piece
alumunum type that could go either way.  Does anyone know of an internet site
with a picture of something like this?
