10 Years ago, when I worked at a parts store, we sold the AC EP12 as a
universal replacement for domestic vehicles and the EP42 as the
universal replacement for import vehicle without Fuel Injection. The
difference was in the output fuel pressure with the EP42 being the lower
of the two. I remember a range being specified of 4-7 lbs.
