Well my MG is without and engine and interior, but I sat in it today,
out in the driveway, on an upturned milk crate, gripping the steering
wheel. I did not know Dick, but in his memory I feel this was an
appropriate measure. Here's to you Dick, hoping there is an Abbingdon
whereever you are.

Somewhere there's a nineteen-year-old
in a battered MGB.
He seeks a bit of country road,
where traffic shouldn't be.
No silencer to speak of,
loose spokes and rotted sills
No care at all for niceties,
He takes the curves and hills.
A boom-box on the parcel shelf,
can't be heard above the din.
With a fistful of shaking steering wheel,
A nineteen-year-old grins.
Get out and go for a drive!

Subject: A tribute to DammitDick
Yo chaps!
Please save an hour on FRIDAY....JULY 11th, 1997 for an hour's drive in
your
MG (or British Car!) in tribute to Dick Criswell.
It has been suggested that we reserve each June 20th of all future years
for
the same. I concur.
Get out and drive your MG.....enjoy some open road....and pause for a
moment.....it is not the cars....it is the people such as Dick Criswell
that
make this hobby so enjoyable.
Regards
