I don't know the Pertronix set-up, but a friend's S-10 ignition module
died, and when we went to change it out, we found that it had almost no
heat sink compound underneath it. The module uses the distributor body
as a heat sink, and it wasn't cooling 100% because of this.
We installed the new module over 2 yrs ago with lots of heat sink
compound, and so far, so good. Note that the replacement module DIDN'T
come with any h/s compound, but reccommended using it.
