I did it. I bragged about how great the A was running. I knew that I was
treading on dangerous ground but I did it anyway and now I must suffer the
consequences.
I guess this proves that you don't really own an MG. You just pay for the
priveledge of borrowing it from the great MOWOG. Further offerings will be
required.
I was driving by a concrete barrier at lunch today during light traffic. A
lot of you probably already know what the problems is but for those members
of the group with less experience / worse memory, I will continue.
Reflected back from the barrier, clear as day, I could hear a faint "tick,
tick, tick" at about wheel rotation speed. Seems to get worse when I turn
right. <<Sigh>>
What is this with wheel bearings only lasting 36 years? There ought to be
a law! I mean, its not like I abuse the thing ;-)
This would be a good place where someone who heard the same sound could
chime in and tell me about a 10 minute fix for something else that makes
exactly the same noise. Failing that, insight to the job at hand would be
greatly appreciated. I have never had one of these "three quarter
floating" rear ends apart.

Bill Eastman
61 MGA that seems to enjoy retribution. I must remember to treat her with
more respect.
