If there is no lash spec listed, I'd think 15 thousandths was ok.

You should grab the shaft and try to wiggle it. If it doesn't wobble much
(noticeable movement,clicking, etc) it is probably okay.You want to avoid
slop in the bushes so that your points don't open erratically. That will
mess up the consistency of your dwell and timing.

Check the weight pivot holes (one at a time)for out of round wear. A tiny
bit is probably okay.Wipe off any old grease beneath the weights. Dab a
thin film of distributor cam lube on the wear surfaces.Dab a thin film on
the pivot pin.Check for free rotation of the re-installed weight on the
advance plate.

There are always exceptions, but usually on the weights.

On my Midget, an installed end float (lash)of 5 thousandth +/- 2
thousandths is listed.I accomplished this via a gasket and Permatex's
"The Right Stuff." If you don't have to change the installed end float, I
would recommend a thin coat of the right stuff alone. Your manual should
describe how to check your installed end float.
