With higher temps, I am starting to have a problem with the fuel tank
overflowing. I don't recall having this problem when I lived at sea
level. I live at 7000 ft.
If I fill up with gas in the morning, then drive the 11 miles to work, if
I can park in the shade I am ok, but if not, the fuel in the tank expands
from the sun's heat, and starts leaking out the gas cap.
I don't top the tank off, and it still does it. Once I drove 40 miles,
and it still did it.
Vehicle in question is a 67 BGT, without the expansion tank.
I have tried only putting in 5 gallons at a time, but I know someday I
will forget, and someone with a cigarette will walk by, and boom!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
James Howard
