I understand fully, and I wish I had done the same. Daunted by the
task of rebuilding TINTIN's tranny, I have had two different reputable
shops rebuild it, and I still have no synchro in second gear and often
it resists going into second at all. This is after spending over $850
in the second shop, with new first, second, and laygear.
If I had done it myself, I would have saved a few hundred, I may have
had better results, but at least I would know what's in there and be
prepared to do it over if need be. Now I'm just bitter and double-
clutching.
