I have owned 3 mgb's, and the fuel guage worked the same way on all of
them. Half full meant 8 gallons were gone, four were left.
And the guage never reached empty except when the car was turned off.
My rule of thumb has been that if the gauge reads 1/8 a tank and the needle
isn't moving (usually it bobbles a bit), its too low.
