Well, got it open and apart and at the gear cluster last night. All the
bearings and seals need to be replaced. One main bearing had half the ball
bearings missing. All the syncs need to be replaced. The gears are in
great shape as is everything else.
Time to order the new replacement parts.
Looks like fooling around with replacing this stuff looks a bit over my
head. Once I get the parts, I'll take it to a trany house and have a pro
take car of it from there.
I think that $200 to do the work is fair, don't you?
