A sway bar (actually, an anti-sway bar) transfers weight to the inside wheel
during cornering. This results in less body lean, or sway, and increased
cornering speed, because the inside wheel in the corner is now doing more of
the work than without the bar.
All of this works great up to a point. But if you use too stiff a front bar,
the car reaches its limit of adhesion much sooner, and you get a push (sorry,
that's understeer).
How stiff is too stiff? That also depends on wheel width, tire width and
compund, etc. The stock bar will improve your cornering without destroying
ride. I would not go to a much heavier bar or add a rear bar if you are
running stock width wheels and tires.
As a rule of thumb, your front bar should be stiffer than your rear bar, or
the car will be so loose (oversteer) as to be undriveable in the rain, and
very difficult in the dry. If you decide on the ADDCO bars, replace all the
suspension bushings.. that will help tighten up the ride. I have some
aluminum 13 x 5 1./2 rims if interested...
