On April 18, 1775, (222 years ago) Paul Revere made his "famous" ride
from Charlestown to Lexington,Mass., to warn the colonists that the
British were coming. You remember the deal: One if by land and two if by
sea. Apparently, this was before the much maligned Lucas electrics, so
if there was only one light, it probably was accurate and not a short or
a burned out bulb. It's probably a good thing that he was on a one
horsepower vehicle and not an MG or Austin Healey because he might not
have made it, at least that day and not on the end of a tow rope. Had he
not made it, we might then, now, and forever, be speaking English.
