I'm assumimg now that you're talking Sprite/Midgets here, according to
Moss Catalog: "Rebuilt Gear Box "rib case" ............... Retain your
old shift lever assembly and clutch release lever, as rebuilt
gearsboxes do not include these. These gearboxes maybe used to replace
the earlier "smooth case" gearboxes when used with "rib case" clutch
release lever" "We recommend the direct replacement of a troublesome
smooth case with the ribcase" . Bottomlined: no they are not the same
lever but the rib case, is a direct swap for the smooth and a very
common improvement. I have 2 ribcase transmissions I would let go,
cheap ($50. each.)
