My transmission was rebuilt with the car 2 years ago. Initially the gearing was very stiff but has loosened up nicely. The transmission would "pop" out of reverse and slip out of fourth gear with regularity. The reverse problem has not recurred but it still slips out of fourth. Can anyone suggest a possible cure for this situation. If I hold the shift lever with slight, constant rearward pressure I'm fine, but this shouldn't be. Steve 52 TD |
