I have a 70B and have a few questions that I'm sure are very easy for all you
who have great knowledge of MG's but for me, who is of little knowledge(but
would love to learn) they are difficult.
When I depress my clutch it feels like metal to metal grinding, it seems to do
it more the more I use the clutch and the warmer the car gets-does this mean I
need a new clutch or is it in the hydraulics? If I need a new clutch which is
the best to buy?
I need to paint my car and would like to do as much of the prep work myself as
possible. What is a good book for one of little knowledge? And how much could
I do myself? I already have everything off of it-except the door locks, which
seem to have me stumped.
I also am going to replace the left front hub, I have a used one coming but
would like to know what else I should replace while I've got it apart. I am
going to put the V8 bushings in- just not sure what else to check/replace.
Someone (I can't remember who) said that the spring compressors from VB are no
good-is it just theirs, or spring compressors in general? I don't know if any
buys from Harbor Freight-I never have-but the have a set for about $10. I know
that you usually get what you pay for so I'm a little leery of these. I really
can't rent them as I'm at least 75 miles from the closest rental place.
Is there anything else I need to do/check while the car is apart to get it
ready for the great driving weather that's just around the corner?
One more thing-if any of the answers are in the FAQ's-I'm sorry but I haven't
been able to find it(the site not the answers).
Thanks in advance for the help.
