Regarding the tape residue on the rear window: I sugggest your friend go to
the local super market and buy a small bottle of De-Solvit. It is a citrus
based oil that dissolves tape residue and chewing gum and those infuriating
stickers that stores like to put on things. I would try a small bit in an
inconspicuous spot to make sure it won't affect the plastic first. However,
it seems to be a pretty gentle product on most surfaces. Even if it isn't
good on the plastic window he won't be out anything as the stuff is really
handy around the house.
