Door fit

Can someone let me know if my doors are screwy or all MGB doors
the way mine are. On my 1980 MGB I can insert my finger tips between the door
seals and the door panels at the rear of both doors. The doors are flush on the
exterior. What gives? How can a door be too thin by ~1/2 inch? I could
understand one door being this way but both doors? Anyone have this same
situation?
