I paid $29 for the Purolator in a local auto parts.  Every auto parts I went
inot had them in the $29 to $32 range.

Doesn't Moss or one of the other suppliers suggest you can use this pump in
line with the original either as a booster or emergency spare?  It would need
wired to a separate switch.

The direction of the check valves should allow this operation.
