A more detailed explanation of this will be featured in the next issue of
British Car Mag in an article I've written about modified Minors, but
basically, the Datsun stuff was based on earlier Datsun designs, that were
modified from a number of even earlier stuff that was built under license to
BMC. To make a long story short, the 210 stuff fits best.
FUNNY FACT! Datsuns from this era were never imported to the UK in large
numbers so the use of this conversion is almost unheard of over there. They
use the more popular Toyota 5-speeds (the same ones found over here in rear
drive Corolas for their trans conversions and Fiat 1800/2000 twin-cam
powertrains for full conversions. Most Americans laugh at the thought of
using any Fix-It-Again-Tony parts on their Britiron, but over there rusty
Fiats are common and old Datsuns are not.
