Hello, friends:
Well, as far as I know Don Collins is successfully on his way back to
Texas and Oklahoma (where the wind comes screaming through the panes,
or something to that effect) after having picked up his B here in
Virginia. We met here in Fredericksburg last week, and had a very
nice evening together enjoying both the comraderie of our MG
ownership and the hospitality of that great Southern tradition,
Waffle House. (There really isn't much else open in Fred'burg at
9pm on a Sunday night.) Don's a heckuva nice fella, we thoroughly
amazed everyone at the WH by standing in the parking lot in 30 deg.
weather (with wind) yakking about our cars, and we did manage to tear
up a few city streets together for a while. Brrrr. I had the top
down; Don, displaying intelligence as the better part of valour, kept
his top up. Don's got a very nice red B; it's race tuned and lowered
far enough that one might mistake it for a Midget, and boy, does it
scream. Hope ya made it home all right, Don!
Whilst we were sitting in another parking lot comparing suspensions and
such, an old local duff stopped by in a pickup and allowed as to how he
had a 70 BGT for sale, over at his farm on Bell's Hill Rd. Split bumper
and wires. Says the car runs, has no rust, but the paint job is lousy.
All original as far as he knows. He'll take $1,000 for it. If you're
interested, I'll run by and have a look at the car; I've been told by
Herself that I'm not interested in it at this time (to be fair, she's
right ... we just don't have the money right now for this kind of
thing). I've got no interest in this car, &c, &c. Email me if you've
got some interest in it. This car is in Stafford, Virginia (for those
of you poor unfortunates who don't know where Bell's Hill Road is).
Cheers!
Corey
