Another season, another set of possible problems i suppose - the 72 is
really running great (notwithstanding the brake story...)- a little rich
perhaps but ill take the odd backfire on steady acceleration since the
carbs are as good as they have ever been!!
I am however hearing the suspicion of a metallic rattle - very faint at
this point and hopefully not what i suspect
symptoms:-
occurs in all 4 gears at about 3300rpm whilst accelerating - diminishes
at about 3500rpm and returns only when cruising about 70mph
does NOT occur when revving engine out of gear even at very high rpm
"orange line"
So - guess likely transmission but anyone got any more concrete
ideas/seen it before? - is it a "fix now" or "fail first"? - enquiring
minds want to know....
