Still stuck, then. You really need to start (cruel pun not intended) with a timing light. If its flashing when you crank the engine then the fault isn't electrical, although it could still be the timing out and not by much. A test lamp connected to the connection between the points and the coil *will* light when the points are opened and go out when the points are closed, if the other side of the lamp is connected to ground.
