Have you ever wondered what actually happens when an M.G. engine block is
rebored or even what the inside of an M.G. engine looks like? How many times
have you considered the condition of your M.G.'s camshaft or crankshaft ? If
you are like many M.G. owners, these questions may only arise when the time
comes to rebuild the engine in your car. But why not learn about the steps in
the rebuilding process before your engine needs attention?
If you have an interest in what goes on inside the "heart" of your M.G., then
plan to be present on February 15, 1997, at 9 a.m. at Modern Machine and Parts,
Alexandria, VA, for the next installment of the M.G.C.C. 'sellout ' engine
rebuilding tech session series. Shop owner and master engine rebuilder Tom
Sykes will give us the opportunity to learn what is involved in camshaft and
crankshaft profiling and reconditioning, and in engine block reboring. The
equipment used to will be explained and demonstrated where possible, and Tom
will be pleased to answer questions about the entire rebuilding process. Even
if you consider yourself knowledgeable about engine rebuilding, we suspect that
you will learn something new from Tom's extensive knowledge and experience.
