I've used Red Line products in my XK120 vintage racer from one end to the
other -
- "Water Wetter" in the cooling system - lowers surface tension and
increases heat transfer; worked great in hours of 107 degree desert driving
in Arizona
- engine oil
- MTL in gearbox (both Moss and Ford)
- differential (forget the specific product name, but as per their
recommendation) with limited slip
[I also use their synthetic ATF in my Volvo tow car]
The stuff is great. Leaks? I haven't noticed any problems, but with a
British car, how can you tell?
Another important benefit that I haven't seen mentioned here is that
synthetic lubricants don't drain back off metal surfaces (sorry, I don't
know the actual engineering term) as quickly as dino lubes. For vehicles
that are only started occasionally - i.e. once a week or once a month - this
can significantly reduce startup wear.
[BTW, I use Castrol LMA in my brakes and flush before every race!]
