I remember seeing pictures and a description of the Brooklands body
kit in a mid-80s edition of British Car magazine. What it appeared
to do was to take the nicely balanced 1960s B styling and replace it
with the pointy nose look of an early RX-7 or one of those 280ZXs
with the partial headlight covers, the one that looked half asleep
when the headlights were retracted. No thanks.
The more intriguing thing about the article was that Brooklands also
appeared to offer V-6 conversion kits using the Ford "Essex" 3.0
litre engine. That might be a worthwhile effort, but you can keep
the 1978 polyester suit body kit.
