Dear Ross;

Regarding the tires for your M.G. the Dunlops are the best choice for both
show and go. They will give
you the best performance and a British Car looks best with "British Tyres". I
have a set of Commander tires
on my 1935 Riley Kestrel and am very pleased with them am would recommend
them as the alternative.
Firestones are not the best choice in this size.

Tubes are a more important choice than the tires. In a 1200 mile trip my
Riley Imp using new 450 /19
American made tubes had 5 blow outs not from punctures but from seam
separations in the tubes. British
Wire Wheel in I believe Santa Cruz, California has supplied me with good
imported tubes at a reasonable
price. You should check several things before ordering your tubes. Rims have
different size holes for the
stems and the diameter of those holes should be measured on each rim and the
dimensions given to the
tube supplier. British Wire Wheel can trim stems to the correct size for your
rims. This is preferable to
boring out your rims to accept large stems. Also check the location of these
holes to see if they are offset or
in the center of the rim. Many T.C.'s have found themselves running on cycle
rims due to cost and
availability. Dunlop tubes like the tires are probably the best but are
astronomical in price.

Best of luck
