have read with interest the postings about this material
what does it do to make a switch inoperative
i tried to NOT make contact with an ohmeter in a beaker of dot 5 , made
contact every time
tried to take a switch apart but lost the top half in the process
the part that the fluid hits consists of
a rubber material disk followed by a copper disk followed by a steel
spacer with a bebe i.e, copper plated small ball bearing in the center
the pressure on the line pushes the rubber disk, the copper disk,
and somehow makes contact with bebe and thats all i know
the copper disk was indented by the bebe. perhaps thats why this one
failed
my assumption probably is the switches are much poorer day..
......perhaps its attacking the rubbber material and better switches are
needed
and again, detroit doesn't use them any more
if it is truly the dot 5 all that has to be done is make an interface
that will contain dot 3
i think that a manufacturer could sell a couple dozen
much to do about nothing
