mg.gurus,

Well, I'm gonna go ahead and buy that 1970 MG BGT in CA and drive
it back to Texas. <posts questioning my sanity need not apply. My sanity is
not in question - it in, in fact, nonexistent>

Sooo, now what? I'm flying out there early on the 29th, gonna do
the meet and greet with the original (and only) owner, hand him wads of
cash, and drive away to have dinner with relatives and worry a lot. Bright
and early Monday morning I start THE JOURNEY. This is the stuff legends are
made of, right? I mean, 2-3 days alone in my BGT cruising the highways and
byways of America? Why, then, are my hands shaking and my mouth dry?

Why am I babbling here? Two things: First off I had previously
asked about good books and am now leaning heavily towards the MGB Glovebox
Workshop Manual from Moss motors for the trip as a just-in-case thing (and
later I'll buy lots more MGB books). Sound like something that might
accidentally make sense? Second, I've never been to Northern CA
(Sacramento) and am wondering what's on the way back. I don't have time for
lots of sight-seeing on the way back but if one route or another were more
interesting/scenic/filled with MG garages as far as the eye can see then
I'd be more likely to travel that route. I think I have a friend in Salt
Lake City - izzat on the way? How many hours? I don't mind doing 12-16
hours/day (as long as the car doesn't). Suggestions?

Finally, the very nice PO is replacing the radiator hoses (already
ordered from some place in PA) and doing the pre-trip prep work and loading
spares in the boot. Any last minute suggestions? Many thanks.

                                         Cheers,

Lee "soon to be Lee with the BGT"
Vick
