Frankly, I'm not sure there's enough room to install enough speakers =
requiring enough power to do that. I have a friend who installs car =
stereo systems for a living (well, he used to). I think you can go up =
to about 500 watts without significantly affecting the power supply to =
the rest of the car. Of course, this is on modern cars, but I'd think =
the old Lucas alternator could handle at least 300w...more than enough =
for a superbly loud system, in a B anyway.
By the way, these MG owners seem to have good taste! (SRV, RHCP, etc.).

The only possible drawback I can think of is that one
may be tempted to put in a monster amp and stall the car when playing
the Red Hot Chilli Peppers at max. volume.
