Turn signal snafu

I'll make it short.  My turn signals work fine, but when I apply the break 
they stop flashing.  I've replaced the flasher switch and checked the wiring 
to no avail.  The odd thing is that the right turn signal flashes when the 
break is applied but just at a slower rate.  The left stops flashing all 
together when the break is applied.  It's all a mystery to me.:-/

Has anyone experienced this?  Any ideas?
