One of the most attractive features of chrome wires is that, provided the
spokes are stainless steel (as in Dayton wheels), subsequent adjustments for
loose spokes can be made without having to repaint the wheel where the paint
was displaced in the adjustment. Also the stainless steel will not rust
whereas the normal spokes do and usually adjustment requires replacement of
the whole spoke and then repainting of the whole wheel - which then looks
out of place to the others so all four have to be done.
Also, the MGB looks great with chrome wheels and they were a factory option
over many years so originality is not compromised.
