Hi,
I have a tappety MGA 1500.
I have a new valve lifting gear assembly (complete) that hopefully will cure
the problem.
The noise is all top end around the lifting arms and valves.
Should I replace anything more than the lifting arm assembly?
There's the rocker arm screw, tappet and pushrod to choose as well.
Can I replace the tappet and pushrod with the engine in place. I don't have time
or the expertise to rebuild the engine now!
I know I should release ALL the headbolts in series and not just the ones that
bolt down lifting arm bracket. Any other advice.
Apart from being noisy she runs fine. The complete rocker arm setup was cheap
so I thought it a good idea to change the lot.
