Yikes! 526 messages after being away 12 days means heavy reading
ahead.
Yes, there are actually 3 MGB's in Aruba. I spoke to the owner of a
very nice white 69 roadster. He owns the Plaza Cafe next to the
Sonesta Suites. While having dinner there one night, imagine my
surprise to see this car drive up and park. Seems he's had it for a
month and loves it, said he was getting the papers from the past owner
about joining the NAMGBR. I believe that is what he said. He is Dutch
and while his English is good, I may have been looking at the car
rather than listening to him. Two interesting differences on his car:
1- The dash is the early metal one
2- On top of the front fenders above the headlights were two chrome
mirror base-looking units that he said "told me signals working".
Apparently, a small bulb flashed in time with the left or right
directional lamps. Pretty neat accessory or factory part. He didn't
know and I never heard of as a factory option for export.
I plan to drop him a note to find out more about the other two. It
looked rock solid, after all it is a desert island, no humidity, like
really dry.
Well, now that I'm back I think I need a B experience.
Cheers,
DAve
