To paraphrase, someoen wrote: "What does a gulp valve do?" A gulp valve, as far as I know, is only needed on MGBs with an air pump. The air pump alone causes backfiring, and the gulp valve somehow prevents it. It you have an air pump, and your gulp valve goes, you might start getting some backfiring. The only replacements availible now are stamped "Nissan" or "Datsun" and don't look right. You can find NOS, but the price will make you go... glup! John |
