Here in  Germany waving at each other is very popular, but just to owners in 
cars of the same marque, ie. MGs, BMW Z3.......

Bikers always wave other bikers regardless the type of bike.

I wave to all top down drivers in Brit cars and to all nice girls with our 
without car :-)
