Electrical fault lesson 101 -- "It's not the wire, it's a component or a 
connection."

True as usual.  I've isolated yesterday's headlight problem to either 
the dash switch or the dipswitch.  Next step is to clean the connections 
and try again, but it got dark too quickly.  Thanks again for pointing me 
in the right direction, listers!
