On a more serious note! I need to buy a spray gun. The following are =
the
limiting factors
=20
1) I am poor (teacher at a small Community College) --$$ are a real
concern
=20
2) I have a single stage 6.5 H.P. air compressor
=20
3) Don't want to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery
=20
4) Cost is a real concern Oh I said that in #1
=20
5) This gun is for one car. I do not see doing another car in the =
near
future $$$$
=20
Any suggestion about guns in Eastwood catalog (part # page #)

There are a number of imitation Binks #7 guns available any one of =
which
would work fine on one paint job. They won't, however live a long and =
happy
life. Look for them at flea markets, cheap tool stores, and most tool =
vendors
at swap meets and car shows. Should be under $50.

Gentlemen,
I don't think I agree. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap =
spray
gun!
R. Johnson - Dallas
I have worked with De Vilbiss, Binks and cheap Japanese imitation guns =
and from my experience, if you are only doing one car, the cheap gun =
works as well as the expensive one. I suppose there are variable quality =
guns from different mfg's, but I have never had a problem with limited =
usage. I use the cheap gun till it breaks and then I buy a new one, for =
less than it used to cost to have my good guns repaired. Things would, =
of course be very different if I was painting on a production basis, but =
I'm not, and that was not the question. For one car I don't think I =
could justify the bucks for a Binks. (then again, I don't think I could =
justify the cost of the compressor, paint, etc.- for one car a body shop =
is probably a better solution)
