Regarding the horsehair pad on the MGA bonnet, this is applied
directly to the underside of the bonnet and not to the wooden
stiffener as mentioned in the first posting. The trick is to glue it
to the bonnet in the spot where the pad will hit the top tank of the
radiator when the bonnet is closed.
Clausager's book "Original MGA" has some good shots of this pad.
If you get hold of Todd Clarke at Clarke Spares, I highly recommend
his spiral bound book "MGA Owners Information and Technical Guide".
For about 25 or 30 bucks, this is one of the best sources of detailed
MGA restoration info that I have seen. Check it out.
