Andy,
I noted that you were considering converting to dual SUs.
I converted my '80 B to dual HS4s two and a half years ago.
I managed to find used intake and exhaust manifolds for it,
although I could have used an aftermarket header just as
easily (just make certain that you get a long center branch
type). I set the timing to about 14 btdc @600 rpm. Originally
my carbs came with the wrong needles. Performance
improved dramatically when I put in the proper needles (AALs
or AAEs, I forget which).
BTW, the car passes the New York State emmissions
test with no problem.
