Once again, I need some help with my 78 B. Original Z-S carb, smog pump, cat
converter, etc. (I do have Wisconsin emissions tests to deal with). I
purchased the car last year -- it had been sitting for 18 months. I got it
running and drove it last summer before redoing the interior and paint this
winter. Now, I'm trying to get it running a little better and sort out a few
other bits.
This weekend, I discovered a crack in my exhaust manifold near the cat converter
leading to a very quick clogging of the air filter and a rich running condition
due to higher vacuum. First question, will it hurt anything to drive like this?
I replaced the air filter and it's running well enough to drive it.
What are my options and cost to fix?
Anyone got a used manifold?
How much to switch to the dual carb setup?
Other options? I am not interested in high performance, just a fun, reliable
summertime driver.
Now onto the electical question. When I turn on the ignition, nothing lights up
(no ignition light, etc.). When I turn on my headlights, the seat belt warning
light comes on. What is supposed to be happening? The seat belt warning system
has been disabled.
