Well I managed to wrestle the breather pipe in with the helpfull advice I
received on this list. The bolt I removed from the oil pan must have been
stripped and glued back in with some kind of thread restorer by the DPO.
Once it broke free it was loose as a goose. Fortunatly the hole goes through
all the way and I was able to use a long skinny bolt with a nut in it's
place. I figured this bolt is not too critical since it is only holding the
oil pan on. Now the
bottom end of the breather pipe is pointing down right on top of the pedal
box. Does this sound like the correct orientation?
The next owner will probably complain about the DPO who put a nut and bolt
on the corner of the oil pan.
