I had my entire MGB bead blasted a while back. I'm very happy with the
results. The bonnet however is not aluminum. If I were to have plastic,
fibreglass or aluminum blasted I'd be sure to tell the person blasting
what it is first.

Its my understanding that bead blasting does not heat up the surface as
much as sand blasting. I'm also told that bead blasting does not leave
any silicates (sp?) behind like sand blasting which raise havoc with new
paint.

I mostly chose bead blasting because I was not interested in messing with
the chemical paint strippers.

As with most anything else, I'm sure the person doing the blasting has a
lot to with the overall quality of the job. From what I could tell,
HI-TECH Stripping here in Raleigh are very good at what they do.

(Standard disclaimer here, I don't have any financial interest etc...)
