Rocker assembly removal

Hi.

Quick question - If I want to remove my rocker assembly for
refurbishing, does that necessitate a head gasket replacement, even
though the head won't be moved, just loosened?

My gut feeling is "Yes", but I'd rather hear an authoritative "No", to
save me from pulling manifolds and such...
